To call the Belgian shepherd the passion of Johan is really an understatement.
Johan has already had a very long and strong career. Starting as a dog lover in the obedience programme, he soon got to know the Laekenois and it never let him go.
Together with his wife, Johan started a dog and cat kennel, Best Friends, and gradually began to breed.
In the meantime, breeding became a hobby that got out of hand and his kennel name 'VAN DE DUVETORRE' rings a bell in the world of Malinois and Laekenois.
Johan was one of the founders of the FMBB, the international breed association for Belgian Shepherds, of which he is still the chairman.
As a helper and competitor, he competed in Belgian ring, mondioring and fieldwork.
Johan also ran shows with his dogs and was very successful there.
Johan is also a collector.
He wants to know everything, especially about the pedigrees, the dogs their character and their inheritance.
Since ten years he is the manager of a security company, K9 Detection Belgium, which is specialised in the use of working dogs such as explosives detection dogs and migration control dogs.
And if that wasn't enough, he also founded the unique K9 Training Center !
