The K9 Training Centre has one very large training hall that offers many possibilities.
The training hall is used daily for the education and training of working dogs. Especially the different tracking disciplines.
In this hall everything is available to train every discipline of tracker dog, from puppy to adult, fully trained and licensed tracker dog.
There is also a separate simulated living room in this area to simulate searching a house.
Naturally, other indoor disciplines can also be trained in this room, such as Mondioring or Belgian ring sport.
This multipurpose hall can also be the setting for a competition, event, workshop, seminar, education or training.
The hall is truly unique in Belgium and probably in the whole world of working dogs!

The K9 Training Centre has a training field at the back of the buildings, outside, on grass. The grassy field is adjacent to a watercourse, the 'Noordede'. It is possible to let the dogs swim.
On the field, we mainly train bitework for working dogs in training and for various dog sports such as Belgian ring, IGP and mondioring. But also agility and obedience are practised.
The K9 Training Center already hosted the Belgian Championship Mondioring Belgian Shepherds.
The field is also ideal to organise more competitions for ring sports and events such as seminars, competitions (obedience, agility, ...) or workshops.

This room is fully equipped for training the various tracking dogs.
In this room, which is free of stimuli, everything is available to train puppies to become certified tracker dogs.
For example, there is a long wall with tracking boxes.
On the other hand, there is also a wall to train the dogs on the REST method.
REST means Remote Explosives Scent Tracing. This method can also be trained on products other than explosives, as has been done with our Covid detection dogs.
In this room, which is free of stimuli, everything is available to train puppies to become certified tracker dogs.

This is a second separate room specially equipped to train detection dogs even better with the REST method ( REST = Remote Explosives Scent Tracing ) or RST ( Remote Scent Tracing ), depending on which products are being taught or trained.
The REST method is a special way of detecting explosives. The scent is isolated from an area (a truck or container) in a filter. The filter is placed in a so-called lab behind a cone in a row of cones. The dogs are taught to smell in the cone and to select the scent learned. The dogs therefore do not come into direct contact with the scent to be detected.
In this way, a much faster and more efficient search can be made.
This method is not exclusive for explosives dogs, but can also be used for other scents like our Covid-19 detection dogs.
COVID DETECTION DOGS
Training our Covid detection dogs in this way and in this specialised space has given our trainers the unique opportunity to train even more qualitatively. This gave them the opportunity to develop even more strongly as trainers, raising the level of the dogs, if possible, even higher and the results unprecedented.
Our experience with that project proved once again how strongly this method works.

Each room has a capacity of 30 people.
