As a sporty guy, Shane was already working in security when he met Johan Weckhuyzen. Johan inspired Shane with his passion for dogs and Malinois.
A few weeks later, Shane enthusiastically bought his first Malinois puppy and the microbe has not left him alone since. Shane followed experienced handlers from the ring, such as Gerdi Huyghe, Valeer Linclau and Bart Boudens, but also studied with IGP master Mario Verslijpe.
Shane later started working with his own dog at Johan's security company as a patrol dog handler. He then switched to working with an explosives dog at Brussels airport.
Johan saw how quickly Shane absorbed everything and gave him the chance to prepare puppies for the real thing. Shane soon became a full member of the team of trainers at the K9 Training Centre.
Shane has now been working full time as a trainer at the K9 Training Centre for 2 years and has also been actively involved in our project with the Covid detection dogs.

Shane is a clicker trainer and a certified helper mondioring.

He achieved nice results in mondioring competitions such as the Belgian title Category 1 and the same title at the Club for Belgian Shepherds with Qointreau Van De Duvetorre, a son of his own Marly Van De Duvetorre.
